Background Verification Officer (JobwiseVerify)
About the Role
Join the JobwiseVerify operations team delivering fast, reliable, and secure background check solutions across Nigeria. You will manage candidate identity validation, address verification visits, academic transcript authentication, and guarantor due diligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Authenticate identity credentials (NIN, BVN, Voter's Card, International Passport) using official verification APIs.
- Coordinate physical field visits for residential address verification and guarantor asset tracing across Lagos and regional hubs.
- Contact primary, secondary, and tertiary educational institutions to verify academic certificates and transcripts.
- Liaise with previous employers' HR departments to confirm employment dates, roles, and exit conduct.
- Compile detailed, tamper-proof background verification reports for enterprise clients within standard 48-72 hour SLAs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- HND or B.Sc. in Criminology, Sociology, Business, or related fields.
- 2+ years experience in background screening, fraud investigation, or HR compliance.
- High attention to detail, ethical integrity, and confidentiality standards.
- Familiarity with NDPR (Nigeria Data Protection Regulation) compliance guidelines.
- Strong written reporting and documentation skills.
